"Support and protect the future pillars of our nation; You're blocking their way to reach their destination."
Childhood for enjoyment;
And also for playing;
Why crush their lives;
Under your feeling less feet.
They're small;
Meant to play with a ball;⚽
For going to school;
They shouldn't be fighting for everyday food.🍲
Don't give them a single tear,😭
Cause it'll soon turn into a great fear;
They're not for earning money;💰
Spoiling their childhood as sweet as honey.
They have to polish shoes;👞
Even after so much refuse;
They also wash utensils;
And work for the whole day in the mills.
They have to work all day;
Just to get their daily pay;💸
No one thinks they're worth giving;
But it's arduous for them to earn a decent living.
Why don't they smile and laugh;
If we can?
Just because they're born in families;
Of some poor man...
STOP CHILD LABOUR;
No more mournful sighs;
I see all innocent faces;
Along with their sparkling eyes.👀
Tear filled eyes scan garbage;
In search of cans and food;
So sad , these eyes never saw;
Playgrounds of the school.
These hands only know;
How to clean and scrub;
And not to write and draw;
Oh!what sorrowful sights.
Hey, haters of childhood;
don't be so rude;
Never give them hammers;🔨
They're meant for pens and papers.✐

DeleteSalute to your thoughts Ishita on child labour. Every child has right to live his childhood like all of us. Let us support this cause and protect this evil of child labour from India. Congrats..

DeleteI agree that every child has the right to cherish its childhood just like us.If all Indians join hands to remove this social evil, this would vanish for sure.
At this age for you to feel such sorrow for these children shows your depth, ishita... beautiful thought and as beautifully u have penned it...keep it up dear
ReplyDeleteI am glad you liked my poem and my way of writing.
DeleteChild labour is an issue which is snatching the childhood from the children and a sight full of sorrow to see them work, thats what I wanted to express in my poem.
